History has shown that propane piping systems and connected equipment deteriorate over time. In addition, many consumers do not perform manufacturer’s recommended maintenance. If an interruption of service has occurred, applicable codes require the system to be tested for leakage as part of the process of restoration to service. As a part of restoring systems to service, companies often complete some type of a visual inspection to verify that the system is in compliance with applicable code(s) as well as being safe for continued service. This meeting discusses some safe and proper methods of initiating gas service, after an interruption of service, in residential and light commercial vapor propane systems.

Tom Dunn, Director of Safety Education & Compliance will also give an update of any industry changes, and Deb Grooms, Chief Executive Officer will give an update of the Propane Education and Research Council projects.
